At Houston's First, we believe that everyone deserves a chance to experience God's love and grace regardless of their past or present circumstances. Our mission with Celebrate Recovery is to provide a Christ-centered program that guides individuals towards lasting recovery, restoration, and spiritual growth.

What Sets Celebrate Recovery Apart

Celebrate Recovery is unique in its approach to recovery, combining the power of biblical teachings with the support of a caring community. It embraces a holistic view of healing by addressing hurts, habits, and hang-ups through the lens of faith and spirituality. Our program is based on the following key principles:

  • 1. Biblical Foundation: We believe that true transformation comes through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Celebrate Recovery integrates biblical teachings and principles into every aspect of the program.
  • 2. Authentic Community: We provide a safe and confidential space where individuals can be vulnerable, share their struggles, and receive support from others who have walked similar paths.
  • 3. Step-by-Step Recovery Process: Celebrate Recovery follows a structured, step-by-step recovery process that helps individuals identify and address the root causes of their hurts, habits, and hang-ups.
  • 4. Accountability and Sponsorship: Participants are encouraged to find an accountability partner or sponsor who can provide guidance, support, and prayer throughout their journey.
  • 5. Continuous Growth: Celebrate Recovery is not just a one-time program; it's a lifelong journey of growth and transformation. We provide ongoing resources and opportunities for individuals to deepen their faith and maintain their recovery.

Who Can Benefit from Celebrate Recovery?

Celebrate Recovery is open to anyone who is seeking freedom from life's hurts, habits, and hang-ups. Whether you're struggling with addiction, trauma, grief, codependency, anger, or any other issue, our program welcomes you with open arms. We believe that with God's help, there is hope for everyone to find healing and experience a fulfilling life.

Our Weekly Meetings

Our Celebrate Recovery meetings take place every Thursday evening at Bible Baptist Church. Each meeting consists of a time of worship, teaching, sharing, and small group discussions. Here's a breakdown of what you can expect:

6:30 PM - Dinner and Fellowship

We begin the evening with a delicious dinner that provides an opportunity for fellowship and building relationships with other participants. Sharing a meal together fosters a sense of community and support.

7:00 PM - Large Group Session

The large group session features worship, a teaching or testimony, and a time of reflection. It sets the tone for the evening, offering inspiration, encouragement, and biblical insights to guide individuals towards recovery.

8:00 PM - Small Group Discussions

After the large group session, participants break into smaller gender-specific and issue-specific groups led by trained facilitators. These smaller groups provide a safe environment for sharing and receiving support from others who can relate to their specific struggles.

Our Celebrate Recovery program also includes special events such as retreats, workshops, and guest speakers, which offer additional growth opportunities and further enrichment of our recovery journey.
